Flatter-Day Saturday featuring Angie Blom!!

Hello there! Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday...
it's me Karen, and ...
I am THRILLED to be flattering our very own
Ippity Guest Designer...

"ANGIE BLOM"

I've so enjoyed learning more about our FABULOUS Angie...
and I know you will enjoy learning more about her too! So, here we go...

A little bit about AMAZING and SUPER CREATIVE Angie...

Hi My name is Angie Blom.. you might see me on SCS as angb. I am 46 and a stay at home mom, I love to do all crafty things with paper, paint, bobbles and bling. I love to cook, the more the merrier. I was born in Georgetown Guyana, but have lived in Toronto Canada for the past 40 years.. saying that out loud makes me feel old... I am one of 9 children.. the one that broke the pattern.. it was boy, girl ,boy ,girl and then I came and BAM girl and then continued to be boy, girl ,boy, girl.. funny.. must be the middle child thing. I have a very supportive and wonderful husband that I talk alot about.. he is my best friend and a great supporter of everything I do. He is also a big fan of Ippity/Unity as well. We just celebrated 23 years August 1st.. I am very lucky to have him beside me.. hand in hand discovering this life together. We are true soulmates.. love you babe. I also have 2 wonderful funny kids.. Alex 15 and a great help to me everyday and my baby.. Sydney 4.. she thinks she is 14 and somedays acts like it too. I am lucky to have these kids in my life.. they keep me young at heart.. and silly! At this time in my life I must say I am a happy person that just loves her life!!

Angie's BEAUTIFUL FAMILY that she truly adores...
(isn't this the most beautiful family?) :)

• How did you first get involved in stamping?

The first time I got involved with stamping was in May of 2009 when I joined Unity's KOM.. and have been addicted since.

• What is your stamping style?

I don't think I have a style.. I like to change it up all the time.. from clean to messy.. it just depends on my mood.

• Tell us about your creative process

*If it is a scrapbook page.. I first start with the photo's.. and match my papers with the colours.. I them pick out 2-3 stamps to use.. I love to think out of the box and use the stamps in different ways.. I love a clean style to do my layouts.. I want to see the images and try to blend them in to the paper colours to become part of the overall look.

*For Cards, I start be assembling my card design, papers, ink distressing and then the last thing I do is pick the stamp.. colour it in to match the papers and a sentiment.

• What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?

I must say I love all the sets and still have not inked them all up.. but my favourite set to use is from the first release.. Life's Little Moments. I have used it alot on layouts, cards, and notebooks.. I just love the look of all the images.. no many colouring images it is more of a timeless set and will be used over and over again.

• How often do you stamp?

Everyday, It is like a part of my everyday life.. I just have to ink something up.

• How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?

I am a pretty fast crafter.. so I would say less than 30 minutes.. I have dreams of what I want to do so it comes fast for me.

• What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}

It is clean.. I can't work in a messy room.. so every day I clean it up.

• What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?

That would have to be altering.. I am just not that good at it.. but I will try.

Angie answers some "Just for Fun" questions...

• What song best describes you?

I love all sorts of music.. country, pop , soft rock.. so it is hard to just pick one.

• If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?

Well those three things live with me.. but if is was not to include family.. it would be a journal, pencil and my camera..with a ton of sd cards.

• What is your favorite quote?

Capture the Moments that take your Breath Away.. (I guess that is why you will never see me without my camera.. I am always capturing something with it.)

• What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Tons of food, salad, breaded chicken, steak.. pototo salad, it goes on and on.. if you come over there is always something to make in a hurry. My hubby and son like to have easy meals to grab and warm up.. so I make sure it is ready for them.

• If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

WonderWomAn.. I think she could do pretty much anything.. and I love her costumes.!! Ah the early 80's..hehe

What .. you will find anyone that knows me that it what I love to do.

• What would your dream vacation be?

Give me a beach, the house in the movie Something's Gotta GIve.. and I would be happy.. it can be anywhere.. as long as I can stay forever.

Fresh Idea Friday

Hey there!!
Time for another Fresh Idea Friday. I got a few new goodies at CHA and I was anxious to try them out for today's post. I wasn't sure my idea was going to work but I'm pleased to say that it came out just like I had in mind...I love when that happens :)
I've never used cork on a card before but it's a hot item right now. I was super happy to get my hands on some and even happier that I could stamp on it. The frame from {Season of Joy} stamped really clear....then I just cut around the edges. I was going to use my coordinating labels dies but freehand was really quick. I love the whimsy touch the cork adds to the card.
Try stamping on some unexpected surfaces and see what you can come up with. It doesn't even have to be a new product...find something around the house and give it a try. I LOVE stamping on cardboard too!!!
That's it from me today :)
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the
NEW RELEASE
on
AUGUST 12th
Sneak peeks start on August 8th and you won't want to miss them.
Of course if you are already signed up as an {ippity} chick then you have seen the whole release...just another benefit of being a chick :)
Make sure you come back by tomorrow for Flatterday Saturday...we are revealing the NEW guest designer for this release and WOW is she fabulous!!

That's How Thursday!

HaPpY HiP HoP!!!

It's Eva here today and I bring you another quick and easy flower tutorial, this time using felt.

I made my card for Maria's Birthday with these flowers and here is what I did to create my card.

First I took an 8.5" x 11" felt I bought at Michaels and cut 3 wavy strips (each of them will make a flower)

Then I took my Helmar 450 Liquid Adhesive and started rolling and gluing my felt to create the flower and here is what they look like in a closeup.  Aren't they cute?

Next, I cut free hand leaves from a green piece of felt.  My felt had white ink dots on it and originally I thought I would use it, but at the end I just turned it on the plain side to create my card with.

Next I cut my card base out using one of my Silhouette files.

And at last to create my card, I used the following papers (October Afternoon and Pink Paislee) and of course gingham, since that is what Maria loves. :)

And here is what the card looks like with the use of Ippity stamps

Well, that is it for the tutorial.  Hope you make a little felt flower in the future, would love to see it on some of your cards!

Lisa's Sunday Faves

Hi guys, this is coming to you really late. I thought I posted this already, not sure what happened.  Lost in la la land I guess.  But I can't wait to show you all the super finds in the Splitcoast Gallery for this week.

First up, we have this gorgeous card.

I love the softness and of course, Emily used my favorite flower from the Now and Always kit.

This was made by Mary for the turquoise and yellow challenge.  Absolutely gorgeous.  I just love how she used the flower from the Because of you set.

Nora Anne created this beauty.  I love all the little details and that flower is so pretty.

And this one by Sherri just about knocked me off my chair.  I love all the fun bright colors and how cool that is it on a clear card base.  I always admire those who can make a clear card so beautiful!  Just a wonderful card.

Finally we have this super fun and eye popping card from Tamijo.  I love the summer colors and how she paper peiced the book with such fun paper.

Thanks everyone for such wonderful Ippity creations.  I just love surfing the Ippity gallery, so much inspiration.

We'll be back tomorrow with Monday's Hippity Hop and the new Ippity challenge.
