Ippity Blossoms

Are you ready to meet our new Ippity Blossom?
Her name is JOAN Anderson

Creative blog
Sales blog
http://www.ippitystamping.blogspot.com/

Here is a little peek of a beautiful frame that Joan made .

Now a little about Joan.

Your upcoming craft fair events

I host 2 card clubs at my house the first Saturday of each month – a birthday/special occasion club and a Christmas card club. If you are in the Kent, WA , area feel free to email me at jkstampin@hotmail.com for more details – we have loads of fun and would love to have you join us!

Tips or advertising ideas you have learned along the way

Keep creating and they will come…. Keep using Ippity stamps for cards, classes, your blog, facebook… wherever you can. People will notice!

Class ideas

Show versatility by using the same stamp kit in different ways – cards, tags, gift bags, altered items… even using the same stamp with a different color scheme can give a card a totally different feel. People are much more likely to invest in a product they feel they’ll use over and over, and not just for one specific card or project.

Start a Christmas Card Club – I run mine March through November. At each meeting, attendees make 5 cards from the same design. They can choose a different design each month, or make the same one each time. If they come every month, they will have 45 handmade Christmas cards ready to go before Thanksgiving!

Make sure you stop by Joan's Blogs for inspiration and her sales blog if you are interesed in purchasing any of the ippity stamp sets.

{ippity} Blossoms - Kelly Spivey

Time to showcase another one of our FABULOUS {ippity} chicks!!
Let me introduce to you:
Kelly Spivey
My sales page is listed to the right hand side on my blog under Ippity For Sale.

My sales are: All the month of February I am offering free shipping and a card/paper kit with each in-stock stamp set. (I will have my in-stock stamp sets listed by Tuesday)
Upcoming events:I will be at Lutheran High School in Springfield, IL on February 26, 2011 from 9-3.

Tips or advertising ideas: Have a book with the full sized stamp images shown. People want to see things in actual size. Also, have all different kinds of projects on display. We have such great stamps for scrapbooking, people need to see the versatility of ippity!

Class ideas: Do a "year of cards" class. I am planning one for March that I think will be a big hit. People come and make 20 cards, all different varieties, to get them thru the year. Have birthday (men, women, kids, general), thank you, thinking of you, baby, anniversary, etc. Leave 1 table for the "sentiments table" and put out inside sentiments so that people can dress up the insides of their cards if they want. Follow it up with a "holiday cards class" and have them make cards for different holidays such as Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc. Have a date set and it planned so you can share the info with them and give them a small discount if they sign up and pay the day of the "year of cards" class that they are at.

Great tips Kelly!!
NOW take a look at this AMAZING project!! This came just in time because I need a super cute Valentine idea for my hubby. Can't wait to make one of my own :)
{ippity} stamp set used: Here and NowMake sure you stop by Kelly's blog and check out here specials and let here know just how much you LOVE this project :)
Stop back by on Saturday to get to know this ROCKIN {ippity} chick better!

Flatter Day with an Ippity Chick!

I'm back with this week's second feature of the talents of......

Mary Friederichsen

She's an {ippity} Chick and today is her Flatter day! Let's learn a little bit more about this creative friend.  She did this cute little Valentine ensemble with a candle and a book mark. LOVE them!  I'll share some close ups throughout this post.
I live in Escondido, Ca. it is in the North County of San Diego.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, we will celebrate our 33 rd wedding anniversary on the 14th of this month! It sure doesn't seem like 33 years, so I guess that is a good thing! We have 2 daughter ages 26 and 27. We currently have 2 dogs who are very much apart of the family! I was a clinical pediatric nurse up until about 10 years ago when an injury caused me to have to retire.

You can see her blog HERE!

you can e-mail Mary HERE: maryscreativejourney@gmail.com

or visit her Sales Blog to place an order.

Check out these great projects Mary has created for today's feature. Stamping on candles is one of my fave techniques and she does it beautifully here.

Now for some more fun stuff. I got to do a little Q & A with Mary and here's a little more about who she is and what gets her creative juices flowing!
o How did you first get involved in stamping?
It was because of that injury that I started down the road to crafting and eventually to stamping! I had started watching the Carol Duvall Show in the mornings and she would have on Mary O'Neill who started the company Hot Potatoes ( because she first started stamping with potatoes!),she would stamp on velvet, both with acrylic paints and embossing it. Well that got me to start looking for her stamps and brought me into my local stamping store. With the help from the owner Cat I started down the road to stamping and paper crafting!

Then shortly after that I came upon Unity stamp company on-line. It was around the holidays their first year....well I purchased my first stamps and never looked back! :) I joined the KOM club in Feb of 2009 and each months set becomes my new favorite!

o What is your stamping style?
My stamping style changes depending on my mood I guess or the occasion.

o Tell us about your creative process
I tend to think about a card or a project for a while before I start it. Trying to walk thru it, however seldom does it end up the way I first envisioned it! So I have learned to just follow the flow as they say!  Most of the time I start with the image and go from there. However it also depends on who I am creating for in regards to the style that I use.

o What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
Favorite {ippity} set...that is a hard one...well, right now it is "Sing a New Song" I love the bird and I also just love the quote and verse in the set, but "Now and Always","Farm Fresh" and the sets that have the Verses or quotes in them..Devoted. Faith Blooms and Delightful little things, love those as well. These are so uplifting and thought provoking.

o How often do you stamp?
I try to stamp a little bit everyday. Someday I maybe able to work on a project for quite awhile, then others days it may only be just a couple minutes.

o How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?
As far as how long it takes me with a project, that is just all over the board!! Sometimes it will take me hours or days! then other times I can finish in under an hour! Or even 20 min for a quick tag or note card. Just really depends. Sometimes I start out with an image thinking it is what I want to use, then halfway thru it decide that I have a better image and start all over again.

My daughter tells me that I am trying to be a perfectionist, I don't know about that, but maybe.

o What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}
My craft room is in constant flux it seems! I try to pick up each night so I can start with it fairly straightened in the morning, however there are times when I only have a 3x3 pace to work! ;)

I am still trying to organize things in my area. What I really get upset about is when I spend to much time looking for things than what I do working on things! My youngest daughter is thinking about moving out in the spring and if she does I will move into her room, which will be great since it is a larger room and I won't have to share it as office space! Yeah!!

o What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?
I think my biggest paper crafting challenge is combing design papers.

Here's the beautiful book mark Mary made. I just love the look she created here.

Here's a bit more about Mary's experience as an {ippity} Chick:
My sales blog has the same name as my creative blog "Mary's Creative Journey", although my Face book my is "Get creative with {Ippity}"

Just for FUN Questions

I decided to sell {ippity} because I felt it was what I had been looking for! Since I became injured and had to stop working I have been looking for something where I could be creative and work from my home. I am not able to drive so the thought of being able to work from home was just what I was looking for! I also really liked the idea that there were no quotas to meet, I could set things up the way that would be best for me and my situation. The other thing that wasn't required was recruiting. I worked for another home party plan when my girls were little, which wasn't easy working full time (or almost 36 hours/wk),with 2 little girls under the age of 5 and then the parties. The sales part was pretty easy, but the recruiting, always felt so awkward. So that was a big plus for me when it was not required!

o What song best describes you?
according to my Husband"House on Pooh Corner" Kenny Loggins, according to my Daughter "It's the climb" by Miley Cyrus
o If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?
my family(including the dogs!), my crafting supplies and my laptop for my {ippity}sales!
o What is your favorite quote?
You are right where you should be
o What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
a lot of condiments!, eggs, Parmesan cheese, apples and yogurt
o If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
to slow down or reverse time
o If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Some one once told me that I had a gentle heart, I try to and would like to think so. So I guess : "She had a gentle heart"
o What would your dream vacation be?
dream vacation would be for my family and friends to spend a month in Tuscany in a villa that we could rent out,and then be able to walk to local farmers markets, take cooking classes and some art classes of course!
Or Ireland! I want to go there as well.

I'll leave you with one last project that Mary has shared with me. It's a wonderful example of how well different {ippity} stamps work together. Those hearts and birds look like they were made for each other!

Thanks so much Mary for all your beautiful work this week. Don't forget to stop by Mary's blog to say Hi and PLACE AN ORDER! She's got a great deal working this week! Check it out!

Enjoy the day. Many Hug!

She'll even keep track of the account totals so that you don't have to. :)

Check out this darling card she made with the Farm Fresh stamp set....I ♥ a great scene built with stamps.

Here's a close up of the details.

Mary has some great tips about running her {ippity} business. Here's what she has to say in her own words:

One of my Goals for 2011 is to start doing classes in my home, so if you live in the San Diego,Ca. area and want me to notify you please send me an e-mail and I will put you on a mailing list for the classes!

Tips or Advertising ideas: I have tried to do a few things to get the word out. One of the things that I started just before the Holidays was a Facebook page. I think this will help to get more attention to my business. I have meet some really nice people already!

One of the things that is VERY important to me is my customer service. I always want my customers to be glad that they choose me to be their {ippity} chick. I also want to leave a good impression of the company as well. And since I am the one at that moment that they are working with I feel it is important that I do all I can to make them happy. We have such wonderful people working to make this company a success and I want our Customers to feel that they are important to us. Because they are!! :)

One of the things that I have started to do to help my Customers when they have a question about the size of a stamp, especially the ones that are used for journaling, is I make a sticker for them with that stamp. I stamp, emboss it and then run it thru my little Xyron sticker machine. And send it to them with their order. Or if they haven't ordered I will just send it to them. I would rather do that than to have them unhappy about the size of the stamp when they receive it, whether it be to big or to small for their needed purpose. The Customer that this happened with, told me that no way did she want to send the stamps back because she loved them anyway, but still I felt kind of bad. However! I sent her a sticker with her next order for another journaling stamp that she had a question about and she decided to order that set And another one because she loved the bird in Sing a New Song, which I had made a little tag for her with.

I know that for myself I love it when companies include little surprises with my orders, so I try to always make tags or gift cards to add to their orders so that they have something special when they open the package. This way they have something that they can use in a layout or on a card, or they have a few cards already made for them to give with a gift. Other things that I will include are embellishments that I have made, flower etc. and of course the stickers. If they haven't mentioned one they are curious about I will include one that I think that they may like based on other sets they have purchased, or maybe they have mentioned something they are working on.

I have also made little 3x3 Thank you cards using the snippity of ippity to include a little note with each order.
I purchased the little silver "Thank You" charms from Micheals that you find in the Bridal section and tie those onto the cards. My Customers can remove those as well and re-use them!

That all sounds like great advice, Mary! Thanks so much for sharing so much with us. Be sure to check out  Saturday's post for more great projects created by Mary and learn a whole lot more about who she is.
Have a great day!
