Flattering the FABULOUS Eva!

Good Morning {ippity} peeps! We are back with week two of our DT Flatter posts. I don't know about you, but I love learning more about my fellow crafting friends. It's Lisa here, and I'm very excited to bring you a little closer to our oh-so-talented and fabulous DT member, Eva. I swear everything this girl makes is beautiful-she always has just the right embellishment (LOVE all the flowers and ribbon she uses), fun layers and use of those nesties, and fabulous papers-oh, yeah and the BEST stamps!!! GO {IPPITY}!!! Not only is she full of talent, she is also very caring, and soooo helpful whenever any questions need answered (she's quite a whizz with the computer knowledge!!!), and let me tell you she has the coolest accent. She's one of our fearless DT leaders and we wouldn't be were we are today without her! Let's see what else we can learn about sweet Eva.

· Tell us a little about yourself.

I am originally from Hungary and yes, I still have my accent, even though I have lived in the US for 22 years now, but thankfully most people like my accent, so it's all good. I now live in sunny California, which I so love, I really love the sunshine and the flowers all year around, and I think that is reflected in most of my work. I have a very supportive husband, Michael, who I can always turn to ask, what he thinks of my cards, or projects as I am working on them, and sometimes he actually gives me a good feedback and I will change the look of my work. I also have an amazing 20 years old son, Shawn whom I so adore, he is really the sunshine in my life. I am so blessed to have him as my son, so I thank God every day for him. He has an amazing drive in life which I admire in him and is a very caring, loving person. What else can I ask for, right? And let's not forget the last two little parties of my family...Fuzzy and Louis...yesss...my two funny cats. And funny enough, both of them have been brought into our household by my son. I already warned him "no more cats"!!! But we all love these little guys so much and can't imagine our life without them.

· How did you first get involved in stamping?

A friend of mine introduced me to Stampin Up about 9 years ago and I was a demo for a few years. I feel in love with techniques and I am just coming back to playing with them again.

· What is your stamping style?

I have been thinking about this just this week in fact. I think I am more of the "pretty style" stamper, but love the grungy look as well, so it just depends on the moment and the stamps I have in front of me.

· Tell us about your creative process

Well, this is a hard one to explain as well, but I will do my best. There are times that I have some new paper that I just need to play with, then I will start with them and try to match them with the right stamps, but there are times (like our upcoming new release, which I can't wait for!!! :)) when I have new stamps waiting to be inked up, then I will try to locate the matching papers to go with them. I use a few brands of inks such as Memento (if I need to color my image in), Palette inks, Powderpuff chalk ins, by my favorite choice of ink is Ranger Distress ink, as I love to ink up the edges of most of my papers I use. I recently bought a little selection of Copic markers, to so I try to use those on any images that can be colored in. Anyway, once I picked my paper and stamps, then I will look through my sketches, yes, I print out tons of sketches and I will use one that appeals to me at the time as an inspiration. I don't always create my card like the sketch is, but it's a starting point for me. I do love to use my punches and many times you will find me using die cuts I cut out from my Silhouette, which I adore. I also have a nice stash of ribbons, that are always found on my cards, I don't think I have a card without any ribbons...or very few.

· What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?

Tough to choose only one, when I love so many! I am going to have go with the one Kelly picked last week as that is my favorite to go set as well, which is the Where You Should Be set. I love the quotes in it and the leaves are so versatile and can be used anywhere. But I also love, love, love the borders in the Sweet Thoughts of Spring and how can I leave out Music of my Heart and Regal Greetings??? They are all the sets I gravitate too...oh...and the fun tree and birdies from the What Matters Most set. I guess I can't just pick one...sorry...hehehehe. Here is one of my favorite cards I just made. I love this as I used a really cool technique on it, the Acrylic resist.

· How often do you stamp?

I stamp almost every day, but I do go through times, when I just don't want to...hehehe...just don't feel it.

· How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?

Well, that really depends on the card, some are done in an hour, but some take longer, too.

· What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}

Ummm...do I really have to tell???? Hehehe....I started out with a 6 foot table, and now I have a 4 foot one next to it, and it is still messy. I wish I could have someone come clean up after me...there are times I am working on a 4"x4" little spot...gosh, I hope, I am not the only one...hehehe. But I do clean up once in a while and it's a good thing, as I do discover some long lost things...anyone else is that way.

· What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?

I think for me the biggest crafting challenge is time....I would love to create all the time if possible, but that I guess we all have a life to live, too...hehehe

Tell us about your experiences being on the Ippity DT

One word could sum it up pretty much: AMAZING!!!! It was a dream come true for me, and has been a dream journey! Participating at CHA was another incredibly joyous time, when I finally get to meet with Kelly, Eryn, Michelle, Angela and the fabulous Unity crew, and I tell you FABULOUS they are! It has been such a pleasure to work with all the Ippity girls, we do have one amazing team and love to create with the fun stamps and can't wait for the new release!!

· What is your favorite quote?

"In my world everything is beautiful" - Rumi

· What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Costco Spinach Ravioli, Pesto Sauce, chicken breast ready to be cooked, fresh pineapple, zuchini, that's about all that's important.

· If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

Oh, if I had superhero powers, I would choose the power to awaken people to believe in their beauty and their own power. I would LOVE that more than anything!

· What would your dream vacation be?

I would love to go with Michael and my son on an Alaska cruise. It's something I have been wishing for for years and I know it will happen.

See, I told you she was fabulous, but you all probably knew that already. AND that card shows you exactly what I was talking about! Eva, I think that's one of my FAVE cards you've made-I love everything about it, especially that butterfly/button tag corner accent-WOW!

Thanks for spending a little bit of time with us this morning. I hope you all have a fabulous (yes, I LOVE this word and use it a lot!) weekend. Hugs, Lisa

  9. Oh my sweet buddy!! I just wish everyone could get to spend the time talking with you that I do... they would realize that you are even so much more amazing then we all knew you were already!! You have the sweetest spirit that comes through so loudly and beautifully in your amazing creations!!

You are not alone in having to craft in small, cluttered spaces...(clearly it's the sign of a great stamper! LOL!) And I have to agree with you and the others that the card you chose is possibly my very favorite of all you have ever created!! But each of your cards is so talented and such a treat to behold!! Thanks for being a special friend of mine Eva and I can't wait to see you again! Love ya!!

  11. Yes, I just knew that Eva had to be FANTASTIC and inspiring all around! *smile*

Ooooh, I've got it!...I think that when the design team makes these daily updates, whether it be tip-itty Tuesday, or that's how thursday, etc...that each one of you should video record your post! Maybe video one every quarter? What do ya think about that? That way, we could really get to know you and feel like we have spoken to each of you! *wink* heehee...let's see which of the DT reads this message...heehee
