I stamped that leaf image (from The Simple Things) directly onto a subtle print of designer paper from the Quite Contrary dp by My Mind's Eye (Ippity Winter Paper Pack) with black craft ink and then I embossed it with clear embossing powder. I love this technique and it works great with any solid, silhouette image.
I also love to stamp a great sentiment or quote directly onto designer paper for a fabulous focal image. There are just sooo many beautiful designer papers out there and so many great quote stamps that can stand alone. I think a lot of times we get caught up in layering and pairing quotes and sentiments with images. We forget that these stamps can be THE focal point of our card.
So, that's my tip today-Stamp directly onto designer paper. To make it pop a little more, emboss it! I think you'll like the results. If you are using a quote or sentiment stamp, the trick is, use a subtle pattern of dp so the words don't get lost.
Have a great day! and as always, Thanks for stopping by!

Great tip. It's funny with all the trends how you forget some until you see them or read about them again.
