Halloween...errr...Valentine Treats Tutorial

I think I can speak for the whole design team when I say that we are CONSTANTLY inspired by all of you who make the most wonderful {ippity} creations!
Just breeze through the {ippity} gallery {HERE} on Splitcoast and you will see what I mean....TONS of amazing projects to jump start your mojo.
I was inspired by {THESE} halloween treats made by Lynn Miller last August....I immediately decided to make some Halloween treats for my kiddo's classrooms.
Well fast forward to JANUARY and they are NOW going to be Valentine treats :)
I had the best of intentions but life got busy....I'm sure you can ALL relate.
Here is my Valentine treat version of the idea I have had in my head for awhile now.
I bought a big box of 72 airheads and made these cute little pockets to slip them in...well not all of them....YET! After some trial and error I figured out the best way to make them....want to know how?
Supplies you will need
Kraft and Cream Cardstock
Red and Black Ink
Stapler
Circle Punch
Ribbon
Because of You {ippity} Stamp Set
How YOU Doin? {ippity} Stamp Set
Step 1: Cut a piece of Kraft cardstock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and score it along the short edge at 1 1/4 on both edges.
Step 2: Punch a half circle in the middle panel of the treat pouch.Step 3: Stamp the word stamp from {Because of You} in the middle panel in red ink. I just eyeballed mine and it fit PERFECTLY....love when that happens :)Step 4: Fold the pouch together and staple along the bottom and top to hold it together. Tape would work too but this was quicker....72 remember ;)

TIP: Place the candy in the package when you fold it so you don't staple it to tight that the candy won't fit in....trial and error :)And that's it....now just decorate it however you want. I used some ribbon, string and the cute little heart stamp from How YOU Doin? I paper pieced the heart and punched it out with the circle punch. You could fancy them up as much as you wanted but for mass production this was super QUICK and super SIMPLE.
Plus, the measurements allow you to get four treats out of every 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock :)

Give it a try...Valentines is fast approaching....or you could start now and use them for Halloween :)

Texture Tutorial

Hi everyone. It's Maria today for That's How Thursday :)
One of my favorite things to add to any project is texture. I love dry embossing, ribbon, tone on tone stamping, and stitching. It's a great way to add interest to any creation. Today's card is LOADED with texture! I'm already getting sucked in by Valentines cards and {ippity} has a lot of great stamps for the upcoming holiday. Here is everything you will need to make this card for your special someone.
What you will need:
{ippity} stamps - Because of You and Straight From the Heart
Cardstock {Kraft, Red and Cream}
Burlap
Red Felt
Embroidery Floss {Red and Cream}
Needle
Ink {I used Burnt Umber by Palette from Unity}
Red Gingham Ribbon
Cream Button
Paper Piercer and Mat
Scissors
Foam Tape and Double Sided Tape

1. My card is a standard A2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2). I started with a red cardstock mat (4 x 5 1/4). Cut a piece of burlap roughly the same size as the red mat. You will cut it to fit later.
2. Stamp the love background stamp from Because of You on a piece of Kraft cardstock (3 1/2 x 4 1/4). Ink the edges and adhere to the burlap (I used double sided tape)
3.Holding the kraft mat in place, pull the edges of the burlap to fray the edges.
4. Once all the edges are frayed they will be uneven, use your scissors to trim
5. Adhere the burlap to the red cardstock mat and pierce holes around the edges for stitching. I freehand pierced the holes however you could use a template if you wanted the stitching exact.
6. Back stitch a border along the edge.
7. Cut a heart out of the felt (again I freehand cut a heart but you could use a paper or chipboard template.) Adhere it to the bottom right hand corner as shown.
8. Hand stitch around the heart edges using cream embroidery floss.
9. Distress the edges of the red cardstock using a paper distresser or the edge of your scissors.
10. Stamp the sentiment on cream cardstock, cut out and adhere as shown.
11. Wrap a red ribbon around the top at an angle and add a bow and a button.
12. Attach card front to a kraft cardstock base using foam tape.

I can't wait to see all of your creations :) Make sure you come back by tomorrow for the first post of the new year brought to you by Eva!
Have a HAPPY and SAFE new years eve!!
