Sunday Faves

Hello there, Happy Sunday, it's still Sunday here, so I am just now posting my favorites from the week.  This is Eva with a very late Halloween Sunday Faves.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Hope you had a fantastic Halloween with lots of Trick or Treaters...we had absolutely NONE, which I can not even believe...but it's true.

So, let me share a few of my favorite Ippity creations I found in our gallery.  So many pretty cards to pick from, but here are a few although I would love to showcase them all...hehehe.

The first one is by Kelly and they are these adorable and make sure you check out her blog to see the tins she is holding these adorable cards in, as the tins are just too cute, too.

The next pick is by Emily and I just love how she made the banner on this Birthday card...I  might have to steal this idea at a future time!

The next one is by Cathy...look at this gorgeous creation with that beautiful bow and paper piecing my favorite flower!

My last favorite is by Cindy and it's the cutest little scene card.  I just love that little tree with the birdies sitting on it, the earth and sun and the happy sentiment...what's not to love?

Hope you enjoyed these finds as much as I did...and wishing you a very lovely Halloween evening!

saturday flatterday with {ippity} chick ANGIE....

hello! hello!!
happy SATURDAY to you all...
I am so HAPPY to  be here today flattering one of our WONERFUL {ippity} chicks...
ANGIE REESE!
let's get to know a bit MORE about angie, shall we?

Tell us a little about yourself....
i was born and raised in utah. i love the seasons here (except for the snow!) and my entire family lives here. i met the love of my life, kerry, seven years ago. we have lived together for the past six and a half years and got married in april 2009. we love to travel and hopefully one day will make it on the dream vacation listed below! i love most sports, especially baseball and hockey, and i’m starting to find a passion for football as well. i am a pediatric intensive care nurse, which i have been doing also for seven years (32 was a big year for me!). i love what i do. i work at a children’s hospital in salt lake city and i can’t imagine working in a better place. my only regret is that i didn’t do it 15 years ago! stamping is my stress reliever from work and life!

How did you first get involved in stamping?

my cute mom actually got me involved in stamping. she used to work for provo craft and got into the craft industry through that. her and my old roommate wanted me to go to a scrapbook expo once and i wouldn’t have anything to do with it. then she had a few card parties and i had no real interest in going, but went as the dutiful daughter to help out. needless to say after the second one i was hooked! at the next year’s scrapbook expo, i was begging her to go! i live in the scrapbook capital of the world, but there isn’t a ton of just stamping stuff here (just companies that make stuff!). so i got involved with an online community, the stamp shack, then later, scs. i was introduced to a whole new world of crafting. now i’m dragging my cute mom everywhere to stamp, including many trips to get together with friends from the stamp shack. we do an annual (which is becoming more semi-annual!) trip to indiana for a girls weekend of stamping. one of those trips is next week! {THAT is awesome angie...isn't it great how crafting brings everyone TOGETHER!! LOVE that!}

What is your stamping style?
i’m not sure i have one specific style…but if i had to narrow it down, i’d say probably more clean and simple. not a lot of foof! and definitely no glitter, unless it’s stickles!

Tell us about your creative process...
usually i think about a project for a while before i try and make it. once i have an idea in my head, i sit down and just start going for it. i usually don’t do a sample of what i’m making first. if i’m making a set of atcs i just start making all nine at the same time. i guess i have an order in which i do things. once i have a theme, i decide what paper and colors i want to work with. then i start with cutting all the cardstock/paper that i need. then i stamp everything, color, and assemble. if i’m making cards, i rarely make just one. i figure if i’m taking the time to cut, stamp and assemble, i might as well bust out a few at the same time!

What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
there are so many that i love! it’s hard to narrow down just one. but lately i adore quotes a’la happy. it’s just so versitle!

How often do you stamp?
i stamp as often as i can. it’s a huge stress reliever for me! probably 3-4 times a week at least (at least every day i don’t work…)

How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?

it totally depends on the project. it’s the thinking it up in my head that takes the longest. once i have an idea and actually sit down to start creating it, it doesn’t take too long.

What does your craft room look like?
oh it’s a disaster!! i sort of have a path that i can walk from the door to my table. other than that, stuff is everywhere! my actually table is a mess, but it’s an organized mess. i know exactly where everything is in the chaos!  {haha...love that angie, mine is the same exact way!}

What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?
having a deadline! i’m such a procrastinator. {girl we could be sisters...me TOO!}

What is the name of your Ippity Sales Blog?

What made you decide to start selling Ippity?
i was introduced to unity stamps by a few friends. when i found out that {ippity} was made by unity and that you could sell them, i was so excited. i used to be a su! demo but hated the commitments involved. {ippity} makes it so easy to do what you love without the stress! {HOORAY!!}

Tell us about your experience selling Ippity
it’s been a little slow…mostly friends, but that’s the nice part about it. it’s no pressure. i’m just enjoying the chance to meet people through blog hops.

What song best describes you?
i’ve never thought about a song that describes me!

 What is your favorite quote?
“do or do not. there is no try.” -yoda

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
a lot of outdated condiments! some milk, juice, cheese and beer. it’s time to go to the store!

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
to end needless suffering, especially child abuse.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
seriously?

What would your dream vacation be?

you know those exotic islands where the water is so blue you don’t believe it’s real? the ones that have the little huts right over the ocean so you can wake up, just jump off the deck and go for a swim? my dream would be to spend two weeks (or more!) there with my husband. just us (and someone to make sure we have good food, umbrella drinks, and clean towels!)

i SOOOOO ENJOYED getting to know Angie more...
THANK YOU angie for taking the time to share a bit about yourself with us!!

Hello and Happy Hip Hop!!

You have made it to the last stop on today's Hip Hop!!

And did you have fun seeing us FLIP FLOP on the HIP HOP today??

The Unity girls used Ippity and the Ippity girls used Unity!!

Be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom to see the winner from this week's
Hippity Hop Comment Prize from Monday!!

Today I have a project for you and a little tutorial on how I made it!

It follows the theme for this week's HIP HOP which is about

Encouragement in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness

The Ippity Stamp set used here is from Delightful Little Things!

You can read more about my inspiration for this project on my own blog.

But first I would like to share with you how I created the decoupaged plate above.

My inspiration came from the multicolored tissue paper that came in a Victoria Secrets bag.

The hearts on their tissue paper reminded me a little bit like the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon!

Before you can get started, please collect the following supplies...

You will need:
Tissue paper
Mod Podge
Water
Foam brush
and the object you are decoupaging.

Step One:

Rip the tissue into multiple strips

Step Two:

Apply glue to the side of the object you will be applying the paper to.

Step Three:

Place strips one at a time onto the glued areas and reapply glue to the top of the strips.
Continue until the whole object is covered.

Step Four:

Overlap the strips until it is opaque and unable to be seen through.

Step Five:

Allow the decoupaged area to dry completely.

Step Six:

Carefully trim the edges of the object with a sharp blade.

Step Seven:

If desired, add a coat of paint to the backside of the object to improve its' opacity.

Then decorate the front and you are finished!!!

Flatter-day Saturday..Christy Schackart

Flatterday Saturday
Hi everyone.. Happy Saturday!
It's Angie.. here today featuring the ultra talented Ippity Chick

Christy Schackart I am so excited for you all to get to know Christy a little better. but before we get on with the interview check out these outstanding cards.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m an Australian and have been living in the US for nearly 6 years in southern New Hampshire with my husband, two children and a cat. I was a school teacher in Australia before having my two children and since moving to the US I have been a stay-at-home mum.

How did you first get involved in stamping?
I started stamping nearly thirty years ago when I was given a huge box of rubber stamps from a family friend. I stamped and embossed all my wedding invitations 18 years ago over the hotplate in the kitchen...I’m not sure the embossing gun had been invented yet and even if it had, it certainly hadn’t arrived in Australia. I’ve been pretty much stamping on and off ever since!

What is your stamping style?
When I make cards I really try and make them for the people that are going to receive them and so my cards vary from one style to another...I love making monochromatic cards or cards that require lots of colouring or airbrushing.

Tell us about your creative process

It varies depending on what mood I’m in...some days the ideas and execution come very quickly...other times I can work on a card over several days. It can start with a colour or an image...I get all the pieces ready for assembly and I will walk away from it until the next day and complete the card with a fresh look. Lately, I’ve been enjoying challenges which take me outside my comfort zone...the results are always surprising.

What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
I think every time a new collection is released my favourite changes. When I first started with Ippity my favourites were Fishy Philosophy and Devoted...if I HAD to pick one today it would have to be Now & Always.

How often do you stamp?
I like to stamp every day but on average it would probably be about 4 or 5 times a week.

How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?
On average about 30 - 45 minutes...sometimes a couple of days!

What does your craft room look like?
At this very moment messy...however, I try to tidy it on a regular basis...I create better in a tidy space!

What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?
Finding people to send all my cards to! :)

{ippity} Chicks

What is the name of your Ippity Sales Blog?

Ippity at Lone Pine Designs

What made you decide to start selling Ippity?
I loved using Unity stamps and loved the idea of selling Ippity stamps with no strings attached....of course I love Ippity stamps too!

Tell us about your experience selling Ippity?
It’s been so much fun sending Ippity stamps all over the world.

What song best describes you?
Wow, this is a tough one...I'm not sure I've found a song that best describes me yet.
If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?
Can I bring my craft room? If I had my family, my craft room and ice-cream I’d be happy!

What is your favorite quote?
It is what it is!

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Pesto, Laughing Cow Cheese, and bottled water...along with all the other normal stuff.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
So many possibilities...it’s hard to choose one over another...can I be Wonder Woman?

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Crafting my way through life...one card at a time!

What would your dream vacation be?
I think a cruise is the perfect vacation as long as it stops at Australia!
And one last beautiful card.

Thank you so much Christy for allowing us to get to know you better. I love all your amazing creations and look forward like many others to see more.
You can check out Christy's SCS gallery HERE.

Have a wonderful Saturday!
