General Questions

Tell us a little about yourself. {Family, location, background, job, kids, etc.}

Just in case anyone was wondering... my name is pronounced "mac-seen". My Dad had a burst of creativity when I was born. I've not only grown into it, I've also come to love the uniqueness. My nationality is Chamoru = from the island of Guam. However, my Dad was in the Marines for 30 years, so I grew up all over (mostly around the Pacific) and I call home Okinawa where I spent my high school years. I grew more roots there than I have in my current location of Viva Las Vegas, NV in which I've been for ten years now. I'm currently a SAHM (self-titled "real housewife of Las Vegas" LOL), spending my days wrangling my 3 (going on 16) year old toddler Quinlen, sneaking into my "Craft Den" any chance I get, and feeding my reality tv addiction while crafting.

Stamping Questions

How did you first get involved in stamping?

My older sister is also a crafter & was in the midst of the stamp craze last year. When I made the decision to stop working & stay home--I was hooked!

What is your stamping style?Define "stamping style".

I'm definitely in a world of my own, I think. I Love to experiment with all kinds of styles I see & learn...and then I like to mix'em up. I absolutely adore Distress/Vintage/Retro - but, I'm just not into the lace, and butterflies, and bird cages (oh my!). Give me vintage suitcases (love traveling!), a rotary phone, and a bunch of inks/paints/sprays I can make a mess with, throw in a couple of alterables and I'm a happy crafter. I LOVE COLOR...and I love unexpected color. I don't "need" to have it all match...as long as it makes me feel good & makes the person I'm crafting it for feel good - well, then "It's All Good"! :-)

Tell us about your creative process

It all begins with either What I'm making or Who I'm making it for usually. From there, I go wherever my idea takes me to start: papers, stamps, or a cool embellie I have in my stash that'd be perfect for the project at hand. Throughout it all though I always have to be true to myself & own what I'm making because in the end I have to love it because then I know the recipient (if there is one) will love it as well.

What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?

Oh man... it's tough to pick just one. I need to cheat and put up Top 5 (LOL): How You Doin', Farm Fresh (stems from my love of cow collecting), Where You Should Be, Music of the Heart, Books a'Flutter & Book It! (The last 2 kinda count as one since they're a single and a duet, right? hehe)o How often do you stamp?Daily if I can..! I'm definitely churning up plans & making notes for more projects on a daily basis. To actually sit down and be able to get in the zone is probably 4-5 times a week.

How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?

Anywhere from 10 minutes to 3-4 days! Really just depends on how hard I critique myself -- which is usually pretty hard unless things are coming together.o What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}It STARTS clean. I've gotten better at having "stations" for things like scraps, current inks/tools, etc. so it doesn't get too outta hand. But, some days it's the thought that counts when it comes to keepin' it all nice and tidy!

What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?

I have two actually...first is deciding on the project. Second is critiquing TOO much. Doesn't have to be perfect...but, the frustration face rears it's ugly head when I get the "creativi-TAY block". Sometimes I'll scrap the whole thing and start over or I'll take a break, then instead of going back to it -- walk around my "Craft Den" and paw thru my stash to help inspire other paths I could take with it, and then it's back to the project.

{ippity} Chicks

What is the name of your Ippity Sales Blog?

"Under Construction"... LOL! It's still forming, but it is definitely linked up from my personal blog @ http://creativebaggage.blogspot.como/

What made you decide to start selling Ippity?

The artistic freedom, a search to fill the void to feel accomplished at something I can do to contribute to our family, and the no pressure/quota/high minimums definitely had me changing to the {ippity} side. Plus, the stamps feed my creativity by not being so "cookie cutter" and the artwork in the stamps challenges ME to create with them -- I LOVE THAT!

Tell us about your experience selling Ippity

As of right now, I've been slow at selling {ippity}. I like to have a plan in place and my focus in one direction before I dive in. Not to mention, I also want to at least have a set of each for myself to use and make samples. It's a work in progress -- but I love sharing my excitement and passion for expressing one's creativity thru {ippity} and helping others find their way down the {ippity} trail alongside me!

Just for FUN Questions

What song best describes you?

"Dynamite" by Taio Cruz "I came to dance, dance, dance..." "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes, saying aayy-ohh, gotta let go...! I wanna celebrate and live my life..."

If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?

My family, a boat with all of my crafty happiness, and sunscreen.

What is your favorite quote?

"Let's not and say we did.." & "..two scoops of crazy with a side of coo-koo cachoo!"

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Leftover pizza & wings for my boys. In the freezer is my veggie meat goodness. (Pescatarian here...but mostly Veggie-Saurus, lol)

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

the ability of speed in running/walking/flying/etc. then all would get done and I'd still have time left to relax.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

"mac-seen." (LOL)

What would your dream vacation be?

Taking my family to Okinawa/Japan someday... so they can experience it the way that I was lucky enough to have made memories there. ~ Thoughts and prayers being sent out to them as I type this up.

I meant to respond earlier, but had been preparing for my son's 4th birthday and then my Dad's heart surgery the day after. Everything ran smoothly on all fronts, so I'm so thankful for all these blessings the past weeks!!! In which, all of you are included!! :-)
