Tippity Tuesday!

Good morning. It's Lisa here with you for today's Tip! My kids are on Spring Break this week and we are on our way to Michigan to visit with my family for a few days. I even have some time to visit with a few of my highschool friends-love that!
Speaking of friends, today's Tippity Tuesday tip comes from one of our own friends, and Ippity Chick, Stephanie Zito! We love to hear what you Chicks are doing with your businesses. Feel free to shoot me an email with your tip and one day your tip may be featured here.
Here it is, straight from Stephanie, " I always make sure I try and have all of the Ippity products in stock. My customers (both local and from afar) really appreciate this because unlike other stamping companies with Independent reps, you can get your products more quickly or right on the spot if they’re local!
I purchased some inexpensive kraft gift bags, used my Snippity of Ippity stamps, added some kraft paper (you can purchase rolls or recycle some from your Unity/Ippity purchases), some twine to make a tag and I made these cute Ippity bags to put my customer’s purchases in.
At my last workshop the ladies were so impressed that they were able to bring their purchases home with them right away in these cute bags. It really adds a nice touch to finish off your customer’s purchase!"

Aren't those bags just the cutest? It's the little things that make a big impact!

Thanks for sharing your tips, Stephanie! Enjoy the day! Hugs to you all, Lisa

Springtime H{ippity} Hop

Hey everyone!!
I hope your weather has been as gorgeous as mine and that it stays this nice, at least until after Easter!! I'm hosting my families Easter get together at my house this year so I have a busy week of getting ready.
In celebration of the holiday and the beautiful weather I decided this week's challenge should be:

an EASTER or SPRING themed card

This week's prize:
A Unity Handle

It's EASY to play along:
1. Simply create an {ippity} project for either Spring or Easter.
2. THEN upload it to your SCS gallery by midnight on Sunday, the 4th with keyword: IHHC17
3. I will randomly choose a winner next Monday and post it in a thread in the {ippity} forum
Here is a peek at my sample card for this week:
Check out what the {ippity} DT made for this weeks challenge :)
Heather Rolin (Guest Designer)

and of course this weeks FABULOUS H{ippity} Hop participants!
http://riacreations.blogspot.com/

Eventually all the pieces fall into place until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason.

{ippity} FAVES from the week!!

Hello everyone...it's Eryn posting my Sunday FAVES today!!
WOW, I am really loving all the uber fabulous {ippity} creations in the Splitcoast Stampers gallery...have you checked it out lately?  It is honestly really really hard to narrow down the projects that have been posted to just a few.  I so enjoyed going through all of them again today...thanks to EVERYONE that has been uploading your projects, they are fantastic {and if I could choose every single one I would!!}  :)

So without further a do...off to my faves for the past week:

Life's a Song by Carolina {scs name: craftycaro}

Carolina used the {ippity} kit Music of my Heart to create this cute card. I love the color combination that she chose along with the perfect embellishments...that felt flower is the cutest!!  And that faux stitching around the sentiment stamp really gives it a finishing look...this card is 100% fantastic, wouldn't you agree!!

edited to add on 6.14.10...
Melyssa's card
has been removed
for publication!
{how exciting is that!?!?!}

Sweet Love by Melyssa {scs name: croppixie}

Bright, happy colors are totally my thing...that is excactly what I love about Melyssa's card so much.  The bright pink with polka dots goes lovely with the yellow and white polka dot ribbon...and that stitching adds the perfect finishing touch!!  That cute border is from Love in Return & the sentiment is from Moon Beam & Heart Strings!

Easter card & treat box by Karen {scs name: karemal}
Seriously, could these be ANY cuter? I think not...Karen out did herself with this amazing card & treat box.  Check out the cute little chickie peeking out the window, so cute! Simply adorable...the recipient of this set is going to be one HAPPY person...I know I would be!! :)  Karen used the {ippity} kit Sweet Thoughts of Spring to create this set.

God's Love by Mary {scs name: mjfred}
Mary used the kit What Matters Most to create this STUNNING card!  She created it for the week 15 {ippity} challenge which was to use just the colors green & neutral...she mastered the challenge PERFECTLY!  LOVE it Mary...AND all those {ippity} stamps you used!

Happy Spring by Angie Blom {scs name: angb}

Angie, is that seriously an Easter basket that you made with your {ippity} stamps???  Yep...it is, and how adorable is that!! I just love seeing all the creative ways the {ippty} stamps can be used.  I absolutely love the happy spring colors Angie used to create this basket...and that bunny with the basket...A.DOR.A.BLE!

Butterflies 6 mini card set by BonnieRose
My most favorite color is turquoise so how could these adorable mini card's by Bonnie Rose not be on my list, right!  Love how each one is a little unique but yet they are a perfect set that would be a terrific gift for someone.  The poped out butterflies and paper piercing make them one of a kind and PERFECT in my book.

Spring card by Lynn {scs name: briarthyme}

Look at that butterfly...I love how Lynn stamped the Spring sentiment stamp on it to give it some more flair along with the pearls and then popped it out.  But she didn't stop there...she added the perfect finishing touches to this card with that little bit of stitching and yellow button.  Absolutely PERFECT!

Aren't all these Spring cards excellant...I think everyone has got a little SPING FEVER, I know I do!!  I am ready for the snow to be GONE...and straight warm SUNSHINE!!  SOON they are telling me!  :)

Thanks for sharing these cards with us in the Splitcoast gallery ladies!!
and thank YOU for stopping by.
ENJOY the rest of your Sunday!

I have the pleasure of introducing you to a wonderful person and a great assett to Unity Stamp Company and to {ippity}  Many of you know of this fine person already and even found him to be the object of your affections during the Bachelor Bro Contest held by Unity last year!!

Without further adieu, I introduce to you...

 Ryan Broman

We aked Broman a few questions and this is what he had to say...

·    Tell us a little about yourself.  {Family, location, background, job, kids, etc.}

Hi My name is Ryan, but everyone at Unity calls me Bro. My family consists of my parents Tom & Pat, my sister Ellie and her husband Darren and their two boys Owen and Even. I live in Spicer and enjoy spending a lot of time on Green Lake.

·    What is your title at Unity/{ippity}?   Order Fullfillment/ Index Manager

 Here is a picture of Ryan with Angela and Heather at the Ippity Booth at CHA this past January.

 Here Michelle O. and Ryan are helping to set up the {ippity} booth and Make N Take table!

·    How long have you worked there?  I have been with Unity for two years. I’ve basically been with the company since the beginning!

 Angel and Broman outside the CHA convention center in Anaheim, CA

of how Unity Stamps are made showing Bro at work!

·    Are you a crafter? Do you use Unity/{ippity} stamps outside of work?  I am not a crafter outside of work, but have been known to make a few cards here at Unity.

 And here he is helping out at the {ippity} Make N Take table at CHA.
(Yep that is Susan Opel doing our Make N Take!)

Don't let him fool you... he is quite crafty!!  LOL!

Just for FUN Questions

·    What is your favorite quote?    Another day. Another dollar.

·    What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
   3 different flavors of Gatorade and some bagels.

   The ability to fly.

·    If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?   The Bro

·    What would your dream vacation be?
Anywhere in the South Pacific- I just need a beach.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan at CHA and all I can tell you is that he is an incredibly hard working and humble person.  We are all so lucky that he is involved with Unity and {ippity}!  He is one of the many reasons that this company is so great!!

Thanks so much for letting us get to know you better Broman!!  We appreciate you for taking the time to answer our questions!!  See you in Chicago!!

Fresh idea Friday

Hello ladies...I am a little late posting today's post, but I hope you will enjoy what you see.  When I need some fresh ideas, I reach for tutorials, any resource I can go to to, as they always help me.  I will be the first person to admit, I MAY just not come up with every single idea (yeah, that is a shocker...hehehe...shhhh).  So with that said, today's project is something I found on Splitcoaststampers and have been wanting to do for quite some time.....so today is the day!

I really wanted to make this last night, but it wasn't in the books..do you ever feel like you know you need to make something, but it's just not coming out??  So, it had to wait for this morning, but I am glad I did wait, as I kind of like the way it turned out and sure hope you do, too.

So with that said, I introduce you to me my Free Standing up Pop up card, which you can find the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.  And for this sweet little card I used two sets.  One is What Matters Most and the other one is the Sweet Thoughts of Spring.  I love that tree, the birdies and the little cloud is just perfect for any occasion...don't you think???

I hope this inspires you to make one of these fun cards...I would love to see some ippity pop up cards in the gallery, so who is game???

And today I leave you with a quote, that just speaks the truth.

A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart.

- Johann Wolfgang Goethe, from "Faust"

Have a FABULOUS day!!!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday!

It's Heather over here, and I've got a fun, clean and simple tutorial to share with you all today! I had an idea to make easter eggs out of nestabilities dies, so thought I would share this with you in time for Easter!

Sorry I've been MIA for a while, I had actually forgot to post a few weeks back, and hope you can forgive me! Hehehe...Batting my eyelashes over here!

Anyways, for today's tutorial, I used Sweet Thoughts of Spring. I just love this cute cute adorable stamp set!

Step 1: Cut your eggs using dies... Step 2: You'll end up with 3 layers but will only use 2. (I used double sided paper)Step 3: Stamp your image on your neutral cardstock.Step 4: After you've colored your image, adhere to cardstock layer.
Step 5: Use pop up dots or dimensionals to add your windowed egg layer.
Step 6: Embelsh to your liking.
Step 7: Ta-DAH!I hope you all will enjoy this fun and simple tutorial! Sorry for the weird pictures, I'm not very good at taking pictures for a step by step project yet! Hehehe...
Here are 2 quotes for you. Lance is always making me laugh and keeping on my toes, so I thought I would share a super cute quote with you all!

Thanks all and hope you have a FABULOUS day!

Hugs,

Heather R.

T{ippity} Tuesday

Hello all! Maria here again today. Today I have an organization tip for your {ippity} stamps. I've had a few questions from some of my customers on how I store my stamps so I thought I would share with you all. Kelly and Lisa have also both done a storage post but the same method doesn't always work for everyone so I thought I would share mine too :)
I like to have my stamps all out and visible. I use these storage panels in a 3 inch binder for my stamps.If you google {Stamp N' Stor Lightweight Storage Panels} you can find lots of places that sell them. They come is packs of five.
Here is a look at my stamps on the storage panels.
I cut the front of the {ippity} stamp packages off for an index and punch holes in them so they fit in the binder.I can get two stamp sets on one sheet which means I can get TWO WHOLE RELEASES in one binder. (8 storage panels)
I like to know at a glance what is in each folder so I made this cute side label using the {ippity} font Impervious.
This storage solution has been very helpful to me and I love having ALL my stamps in one folder. It's easy to grab and easy to flip through and be inspired. With the next release I will have to start a new folder but I will be able to get one full year of {ippity} in two binders. Pretty compact if you ask me :)

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Saturday Flatter Day...on SUNDAY! :)

{don't forget to check out Maria's Sunday faves...keep scrolling down to see her post for today!}
Saturday Flatter Day...{on SUNDAY this week!}
with one of our
Rockin' TOP SALES {ippity} Chick's
Hey! It's Eryn posting today, I had so much fun reading more about Rona...I know you will too....first check out her GORGEOUS family!!
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Rona Mallard and I have been married to the best guy ever for 23 years!! We have two gorgeous daughters and a little 6 pound yorkie-poo. My oldest daughter is in college and will be a fabulous elementary teacher someday! My youngest is a freshman in high school and keeps us all entertained and has since she was two!! I owned Stamps & Scrapbooks in our small town for about 9 years. I closed the store two years ago this month. It was a wonderful experience and I am thrilled that I was able to live out that dream! Now I am employed full-time for the University where my daughter attends - at the Autism Center. I applied to help out with her college expenses and have been tremendously blessed. I love my job!

How did you first get involved in stamping?
Soon after I started scrapbooking (about 14 years ago) my sister came for a visit and brought her new hobby, stamping – we both became hooked on both hobbies and have been ever since.
What is your stamping style?
I love the look of shabby chic – but also love to try new things and mix ideas. I L♥VE flowers and never think a project is “done” without a flower somewhere.
What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
I love Devoted and What Matters Most – Devoted has my favorite scripture and What Matters Most is so cute and versatile for the cards that I like to make (and send). I really love and use every set!

How often do you stamp?
Almost every night after work :)
How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?
Cards 30 min to an hour – Scrapbook layouts may be all day or ALL WEEK!
What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}
Well my 4200 sq. ft store came home to my itty bitty scrapbook room – it is messy and cramped now!!

What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?
So much stuff so little time…

What is the name of your Ippity Sales Blog?

What made you decide to start selling Ippity?
When the teasers started coming out and people were guessing that it was home sales I really prayed about it and knew it was something I should do. I probably signed up and ordered within an hour of the official announcement - I was so excited!!!

Tell us about your experience selling Ippity –
It has been great for me to have some get togethers with my friends that I met while I had the store. We have had a lot of fun and plan to do classes every few months. I haven’t had a single sale from my blog though and that is something I would really like to work on.

What song best describes you?
This Could Be Our Day – Addison Road (at least I want it to describe me – not just a week in the summer when we go on a mission trip but every day in my daily work and life!)
If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring? Bible, Food, Blankets (they are always cold and hungry on Survivor!)
What is your favorite quote?
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. by Ralph Waldo Emerson. So true, my favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5 &6 and when I started living my life trusting, acknowledging, listening and obeying EVERYTHING changed – GOD WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH and that sure has made all the difference for me :)
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Diet Dr. Pepper, Water Bottles and Leftovers.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
Ability to read minds

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Forgiven and Loved
What would your dream vacation be?
A relaxing tropical place with my family!
Here is one of Rona's favorite {ippity} Projects...
I just adore this card, don't you!!
She used the {ippity} kits Devoted & What Matters Most!

Be sure to check out Rona's blog & leave her some LOVE...

there may be a little something in it for YOU!

THANKS so much for sharing & hanging out with us Rona!! :)

KEEP SCROLLING down to see Maria's SUNDAY FAVES!

Maria's Sunday Faves

Hey everyone!! Hope you are all having a great weekend. I'm still feeling kind of ick with the cold stuff that my kids gave me. I'll never understand how kids have so much energy when they are sick...I couldn't have tied them to the couch, even when they were feeling terrible. Oh to be that young again :)

I need to get to feeling better soon. It's going to be beautiful here today. We've had the craziest weather here in Colorado lately. We were in the 60's and 70's all week and then had a winter storm warning on Friday (lots of heavy, wet snow), it all melted on Saturday and it's going to back in the 50's today....crazy!!!

Since I probably won't make it out much today, how about a little sunshine in card form :)
First up is this fabulous card from Stephanie Zito. I saw this card on this week's Hop and just loved it! I have a hard time making a CAS card so I'm always a bit jealous of those who can. The embossed flowers and the twine are just perfect!
Melyssa Connolly never ceases to amaze me! Her cards always have so many fun elements yet never seem over the top or cluttered. Everything this girl does makes me ohhh and ahhh :) Look at that ribbon through the lace and all those fabulous buttons.....love it!
How about another baby card from the fabulous AJ Otto . I love the layout of this card and those little banners are too cute! I love they way she added the sentiment and let it hang off of the card. Too precious :)
This cute little chickie from Susan Bouchard makes me so excited for Easter! Look at that cute pink easter basket stuff peeking out of the egg. I love how she added the sentiment and the adorable little flower is the perfect finishing touch!
Yep, I'm jealous of another CAS card, this one is from Emily Neihaus. The sentiment is perfect with this paper. And I think I need to get some of this fabulous twine...it's such a fun alternative to ribbon.

And my featured DT card this week comes from the ultra talented Kelly. This card really popped in the gallery. I love the flowers she added as a branch for the birds....so sweet!!

Minty Fresh- Fresh Idea Friday

Well hello there {ippity} peeps!!

I hope you have had a great week so far and are ready to spend a wonderful weekend enjoying some down time.  This is Kelly here and I have a FRESH IDEA for you today that will hopefully get you to think of different ways to use your {ippity} stamps!

If you are like me, you can't wait for the next release of {ippity}stamps!  You probably find yourself wishing there were new stamps to use NOW!!!  Well my FRESH IDEA for you today is to use the same stamps that you already have in  new and different ways!

For my sample today I used one of the seaweed stamps from Fishy Philosophy
BUT,  didn't use it with any fish or water!

AND

I used the Easter basket from the Sweet Thoughts of Spring
BUT didn't make it Easter related!!

Here's what I did...

I stamped the seaweed to look like a a plant and removed some of the stalks on the left side.  And you may find it hard to recognize the Easter basket.  Look again! Can you see that the planter is actually the Easter basket without the handle or the Easter eggs in it?

In addition to using the stamp sets mentioned above, I also used Alphabetically Adorable to label the plant and one of the scalloped borders from Sweet Thoughts of Spring to separate the image panel from the plant's name.

If you want to read more details about how I created this plant label, please visit my blog below!

I hope that this might spark you to think about your stamps in different ways.  With a little creativity and out of the box thinking you can come up with ways to use your stamps that are different than were originally intended.

Have you come up with a unique way to use {ippity} stamps?  We would sure love for you to share it with us! Feel free to link us up to your creations in a comment below!!

Be sure to head over to the {ippity} forum on SCS to sign up for Monday's
H{ippity} Hop!

Have a great Friday!

Layering with inks

Last week Kelly talked about different ink pads and did a great comparasion among a few of them.  This week, I will talk about layering with inks, maximizing what you can do with them. These past two H{ippity} Hops I made two cards that focused on layering with inks, so I thought why not share about that.  This is not new, but perhaps gives some of you some ideas, specially if you are just starting out and don't have a ton of colors.

The first card I will talk about is this week's Missing You card.

And now I will show you step by step how to layer with one ink pad to get this look.  First, here are the items I used for the stamping of this image.  I used Palette ink pad and two stamps from the Regal Greetings set.

Next, I inked up my image and stamped it lightly on a scrap paper.

Once I have done that, I still had some ink left on my stamp, and that is what I used to stamp my image on the  paper I wanted to stamp on.  See, how much lighter that is compared to the first stamped image?

Last I was ready to stamp my sentiment and since I wanted this to pop, I inked it up with the same ink pad and stamped it direct over the Fleur-de-lis image and that is all it took to create a layered stamped look.  Pretty neat, isn't it???
My next example is from last week's hop card, which again, I used a layered stamp look, but this time I did use two different colors.  The key to is, to play around with the colors, preferable use a lighter color for the background stamp image, so it's a  little subdued, and doesn't over power the image you want to focus on.

To create this card, here are the items I used.  Two different ink pads and two different stamps from the What Matters Most set.

First you want to stamp your background stamp image with the lighter color.

Than you will stamp over the lighter color image your darker color image, which in my case was a sentiment.

And there you have it....you have a pretty stamped image ready to dress up into a pretty card.  Hope you like the look and will give it a try, if you haven't yet.

And now I will leave you with today's inspirational quote, which hope you will love as much as I do!

Have a Fabulous day!

Eva
