Flatterday Saturday with Lisa Arana

Good morning ladies.  Hope you are having a lovely Saturday and it's about to get even better, as I have the pleasure of introducing you to one of our new Design Team members, the amazing and sweet,

Lisa Arana

While I have only known Lisa for a very short time, I got to know her a little bit, and what I learned about her is, that she not only makes amazing cards, and does the FABULOUS video tutorials (ummm..can you teach me how to do  them?), she is also very sweet, ready to jump right in, loves Ippity, and is an amazing TEAM PLAYER.  Lisa, we are so happy you are part of our team and I am so looking forward to getting to know you even more!

With that said, take a little time to get to know her a little better!

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am an Arizona native and the only one in my family (the rest are from South Dakota).  I've been married to the most wonderful man I met in college for close to 7 years.  We live out in cow country (though we don't live on a farm) with our two fabulous furry girls. Sienna and Ella are boxer mixes that we rescued from the local pound and a local organization.  I work full time and we try to fit in "outdoor time" as much as possible.  Especially before the summer heat sets in!

    •    How did you first get involved in stamping?

Quite a few years ago a fellow co-worker was talking about this scrapbooking thing and how she likes to make cards for her friends.  I thought, "maybe I'd like to do that!!!"  I found a few friends who shared my obsession and I was hooked!  Next thing I knew, I was at a scrapbook store doing a late night crop!

    •    What is your stamping style?

I tend to lean toward the clean and simple style.  But, I go outside my CAS box A LOT and just let whatever happens, happen.

       •    Tell us about your creative process

I start out my process by building a sketch.  I look around for inspiration from either my stamps or new supplies I received and then sketch it out.  I also really like to play along with challenges because it gives me a jump start.  Then I sit down and get going.  Often my card looks nothing like my sketch, but it got me thinking and that is what I need.

    •    How often do you stamp?

I usually only get to stamp one day on the weekend.  That is why the sketching is so important for me... I like to have a plan since my crafting time is so limited!

    •    What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Oh, you do not want to know!!!  Let's just say I really need to clean out the veggie drawer!  Other than the stuff growing, we have lots of Monster drinks, coffee creamer and leftovers!

        •    What would your dream vacation be?

I guess this wouldn't be a vacation, but I would love to travel the world for a year or more!

I asked Lisa to share a couple of her favorite Ippity creations and here are the ones she wanted me to share with you all.  I just love her style!

And Lisa, as your card says above, YOU ARE FABULOUS!  And finally today I will leave you with two quotes, because one of them is deep and will make you think and the second one is because it's just what we all need.

The people we are in relationship with
are always a mirror, reflecting our own beliefs,
and simultaneously we are mirrors, reflecting their beliefs.
So... relationship is one of the most powerful tools for growth....
If we look honestly at our relationships,
we can see so much about how we have created them.
