Ok, so here is the story. I lost my business card holder right before CHA, so I had my business cards literally in a Ziploc bag...LOL...some of you saw me with my very not so pretty Ziploc bag business card holder...LOL. So, ever since I kept putting off buying another one for some reason, but this week, as I was thinking of my project to share for today, I contemplated a few ideas to share, but than I was looking on etsy.com, which is nowadays one of my favorite inspiration places, and saw a few hand made business card holders.....so than it hit me, why not make my very OWN business card holders. I am creative enough, one would think....right????
So, I had a lot of different color felts I bought at the Supershow, of course my Ippity stamps, some embroidery thread and some Helmar 450 glue and here is what I came up with.
Soooooo???? What do you think???? Likey or not??? I like it a LOT!!! I know I will be so proud to lift this little holder out of my purse and give my cards out to people! In fact I think this makes a great gift to anyone for Christmas or any other occasion. Can you tell I have Christmas on my mind already??? LOL
So, how do you make one of these??? I took a few pictures for you to see, so you can make one, too. It's really so easy, as long as you know blanket stitch, you are in business...hehehe.
First, here are my supplies. I used my Now and Always Ippity Stamp set, as I thought it would be perfect! I had some pretty K&Co brads and the other brad I used is by Creative Imaginations, but I added that while I was making it, so didn't take a picture of it before hand.
Next I laid my felt down and put my business card on it, to see what size I need for it, I just wanted a flap, so I needed to measure that. (Sorry for the horrible picture color)
Next I stamped my flower on both the pink and red felt, and leaves on the green felt, cut them out, and attached the two flowers with the brad, finally glued the leaves and flower together with Helmar 450 glue.
Than I folded my felt to the size I needed it to make a pocket and started stitching it with blanket stich
And you want to make sure you stitch the whole thing together nicely. Also added my brad button and I "crocheted" a loop, so I can loop it over the button. I have know clue how to crochet, but I did my best..hehehe
And finally I added my flower that I stitched around and again, here is the final product. Imagine whipping this little business card holder out and handing your Ippity business card out to a potential client... I bet it would be an instant success....
So, who else is in for making one of these????? I can't wait to see!!!!
Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous day!!!
