Eva's Sunday Faves

Hello, hello lovely ladies, hope you are having a lovely Sunday, staying warm and cozy in the cold areas of the country, so I am sending you some sunshine from our warm California. :)   It's my turn to pick the Faves of this week again, so I went hunting in the gallery and found lots of gorgeousness!  I wish I could highlight all of your work, but for now here are a few of my favorites in no particular order.  By the way, I so loved seeing some of your work in real life at the Supershow in the {ippity} booth!!!

Ok, so here we go!  My first pick is by Robyn.  I love the shape, the patterned paper she used is perfect with this card...and her design is a total eye candy.  She used the Devoted set....it's such a pretty card!

My second pick is by Angie and this card totally jumped at me from the gallery!!!  And you can see why...hehehe.  Take a look at that shape!!!  Oh la la...I am so in love with it!  And she used the Life's Little Moments set to make this adorably cute card!

My next pick is by Lynn and she used the Simply Home set.  I adore the shape and the whole design is just so sweet!!!!  Love this card!!!

The next card is the newest addition in the gallery and I just thought it was too cute!!!  I know we have the shapes challenge this week and you ladies, sure have outdone yourselves with creativity.  So this card is created by Monica and it's in a shape of a bandaid...can you believe that???  How CUTE!!!!!  She used the Just Wanted to Say set to create this adorable card.

My next pick was made by Savannah, and it's BEAUTIFUL!  I love the shape of her card and the overall design just rocks!  She used the Straight from the Heart set to create this beauty.

My next card is highlighting our Kissmas and Mistletoe set and is created by Cathy and it's a cute cup shaped card, take a look, so fun!

My last card is made by JenMarie and it has such a feminine feel to it.  I am not a huge purple lover, but this shade of purple is just so pretty and I love the paper she combined it with.  She used the Because of you set to create this sweet card.

Well, those are my favorites this week for you....hope you enjoy the eye candy.  And I don't want to forget the quote of the day.  Lately I have been getting the Abraham-Hicks quotes daily and I can't tell you how amazing they are, so here is just one of them.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

As you begin to state what you do want, rather than clamoring about what you don't want, you come into your own power. When you come into your own power, you feel better. And when you feel better -- those who love you also feel better.

Flatterday Saturday

Hey everyone! Maria today, bringing you a fabulous interview with the very 1st {ippity} incentive winner:

JEN MARIE She one of our FABULOUS {ippity} chicks. Jen Marie received the first incentive by referring a friend to sign up as an {ippity} chick. You can read about the incentives of being an {ippity} chick {HERE}!

Here is a little about Jen Marie in here own words:
Tell us a little about yourself. {Family, location, background, job, kids, etc.}
I was born and raised in Louisiana. Two years after getting married my DH and I moved to Illinois. A gal from the church we were going to invited me to a stamping workshop and I thought ~ well, I'll go so I can meet people.
Um, yeah... the rest is history! I met peeps AND found an AMAZING hobby!
We moved to Georgia two years ago and thanks to stamping and the internet/SCS I've made some amazing friends online and found a local stamping club to meet with here.
I'm hoping to meet MORE peeps now that I have {ippity}!!

How did you first get involved in stamping?
see above...

What is your stamping style?
Hmmm...that's a tough one. I don't think I really have a particular style, I think it varies.

Tell us about your creative process
It usually starts with a piece of designer paper, then I pull colors and stamps based off of the paper.

What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
Well....there's so not just one favorite, LOL! I loooove Kissmas & Mistletoe for Christmas cards...and now for winter cards.
I also love the Bible verses and font in Devoted.
I've also just discovered Alphabetically Adorable for myself, and the possibilities are just endless with that set!

Check out this project she made with
ALPHABETICALLY ADORABLEHow often do you stamp?
Just about every day!

How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?
From 30 mins to 2 hours, LOL!

What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}
That varies from day to day...or maybe I should say hour by hour!

What is the name of your Ippity Sales Blog?
Taylor~Made by JenMarie ~ just click on the {ippity} blinkie

What made you decide to start selling Ippity?
I have to tell you that over the last month or so before {ippity} came along... I was just ready for a change... I even talked to my DH and Mom about it.
Since moving 2 years ago (more on that below) I am now a 'stamp-at-home-wife' and wanted to do something with my stamping, would love a 'business' but how on Earth do you get started with something like that.....
THEN.... {IPPITY} WAS ANNOUNCED!
I knew in an INSTANT I wanted to be a part of this from the BEGINNING!

What is your favorite quote?
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
soy milk, chocolate syrup ~ gotta be able to make Iced Mochas!

Shaped Card Tutorial

Hello there!! This is Kelly today and I am still reeling from the amazing week I just spent at CHA with all the wonderful Unity/{ippity} peeps!!  We had so much fun and really got a lot of great exposure for {ippity}.   I am so excited at the prospects of this just getting bigger and bigger!!

I am here today with a tutorial for you on how to make the shaped card that I posted for this week's Hippity Hop Challenge! I made a card in the shape of a house by using an {ippity} stamp and I want to share with you how easy it was!

The house shape for this card comes from the house in the Devoted set.  Follow the directions below and you can turn any of the image {ippity} stamps into cards too!

How to make a Shaped Card from a Stamped Image

Step 1

Start by stamping the image you would like to turn into a card shape onto white copy paper using black ink.  It doesn't have to be this house stamp, but something that can be turned into a card.

Step 2

Next scan your stamped image on your printer and save it as a picture file.  If you don't have a scanner, you can take it to your local office supply store.

Step 3

Now open up a program that you like to use to edit your photos or make presentations.  I prefer to use Power Point.  Start a new page and then insert the photo you just stamped into it.

Step 4

Using your program draw a temporary rectangle or square using the tools in your program.  Resize this object to the approximate size you want your finished card to be.  This will be used only for a reference for you to know how large to resize your stamped image.

Step 5

Now you simply adjust the size of the scanned stamped image to fit onto this temporary box you created.  If you use the corners to drag your image, you will maintain the proper proportions of the stamped shape.

Step 6

Once you have your image resized to the desired shape, simply print the image out onto copy paper.

See how much larger the new copied image is compared to the original stamp size?

Step 7

Now roughly cut out the shape you just printed and place it over the piece of cardstock that will become the shaped card base. Be sure that the image fits properly before cutting.

Step 8

Fold you card base in half and with the image hanging over the folded edge, begin to cut out around the enlarged shape.  You might like to use a bit of repositionable tape so that your image doesn't shift as you cut.  Cut all around the edges except those on the folded size that are overlapping.

Step 9

Now you should have a folding card that is the same shape as your stamped image! Isn't that neat. It is a perfect match, just larger.

Simply decorate the card as you see fit and you are all done making a shaped card that matches one of your stamps!  Easy peezy right??  I hope you will give this a try and be sure to upload it to the SCS {ippity} Gallery so we can all see what you did!!

Stop by my blog later today where I hope to have some CHA photos uploaded for you! I am so happy to be home and thrilled to be back in my normal routine! I missed seeing you guys on the forums!!

Have a wonderful day!!

T{ippity} Tuesday

How about another T{ippity} Tuesday Tip from one of our fabulous {ippity} chicks

Of course, the prices of YOUR klub are completely up to YOU. The best thing about being an {ippity} chick or dude, is that EVERYTHING is up to YOU.

To create a Kit Klub that works for you:
*consider how often you would like to meet
*adjust the Kit Klub membership to fit your monthly sales goals
*teach new techniques at each class
*offer the paper kits and ink pads as additional purchases or add them into the membership fees

An exciting part of having a Kit Klub is being able to offer new {ippity} sets every three months as they are released. Your customers will be just as EXCITED as you are to get the new stamps.

I'm Back with my FAVES of the week!

It's me again, Lisa. Like Maria told you the other day it's just the two of us holding down the fort while the rest of the {ippity} peeps are hanging out in Sunny Cali at CHA!!!! I'm trying not to be green with envy, I would soooo LOVE to attend this event one day, just to have a chance to meet all my stamping idols and friends, fellow DT members and oh, to get a first look at all the new products to hit the market. sigh.....maybe someday......the cool thing is, you are all here and I've got some gorgeous {ippity} eye candy for you! One of my favorite things about Sunday is the chance to get caught up on the inspiration that 's been posted all week. I know you can do this any day, but Sunday happens to be my day to do this! I have loved this post each Sunday here on the {ippity} blog and I'm thrilled that today is my day to share!!!! Here's what I found:

This beauty by Emily Neihaus. First off, she uses my new favorite paper by Basic Grey and how could you not LOVE that yummy, big, yellow satin bow! She combines two sets here: Devoted and Just Wanted to Say
Look at this set of cards by EJC! Such a nice CAS layout, gorgeous paper and fabulous use of the sentiments set, Just Wanted to Say. I love that the cards are the same, just the sentiments change-great use of stamping time!
oooo, had to share this with you all (okay, so I think I have a thing for yellow, this week!). It's my favorite quote from Life's Little Moments. KatyLynn did it up cute and paired with some Earth Love dp and chipboard!!! Look at her stitching, nice work, girl!
okay, here's one with no yellow, by Lynn. Her blog is Miller's Ink. The ribbon is what caught my eye here, AND the classic black, red, and white color combo! Great work with the bird cage image from Because of You and the sentiment from Simply Home!

I think I could go on and on, but I won't. If you need to see more great {ippity} inspiration, join us on Monday for the H{ippity} Hop, or just do a search in the SCS gallery by entering {ippity} as the keyword!

Okay, wait, I've got one more. I will leave you with this pretty pink card by Stephanie! It's the perfect time of year to use this set, Straight From the Heart, but she paired it with a sentiment from Just Wanted to Say, so this card can be used for more than just Valentine's Day! Love that!

Enjoy the day! Hugs, Lisa

Flatter Day, Saturday!!!

Oh, boy, was I so excited (and I'm sure you will be too!!!) when I found out who I got to interview for this week's flatter day!!! Ready......

........Today I have the honor of bringing you some insight into the life of the-oh-s0-talented-rockstar- {ippity} and Unity artist....Tanis Giesbrecht!!!!

Here's a little background about Tanis in her own words

My name is Tanis. I live in a small town near Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. I've been married for 18 years (WOW!) to my best friend and we have four amazing kids ages 13, 11, 9 and 5. I'm a stay at home mom at the moment and am mentally preparing myself to go back to teaching this coming fall.

and a few Stamping related Questions

Q:How did you first get involved in stamping?

It all started with a home party in 2003 that I didn't really want to go to (sound familiar anyone?).
Q: What is your stamping style? Diverse?

I don't know if I can pinpoint a style. I do tend to lean towards whimsical and simple, but I let the product I'm using lead the way.
Q: Tell us about your creative process.

I have learned not to create unless I'm feeling creative. If I'm inspired to draw, I draw. If I am challenged (within myself) to create a card, I make one. If I try to do something when the creativity isn't bubbling, it fails 99% of the time. And I always try to make sure I'm doing something I love. If my creating doesn't start with something I love, I'm not going to love the end product.

Q: What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?

OH WOW! That's a hard question!! I love SO MANY Unity and Ippity sets....I've recently acquired “Bevy of Butterflies” (Unity) and “Because of You” (Ippity) and am super loving those. And I always keep coming back to “Eco Chic”, my very first Unity purchase.

Q: How often do you stamp?

Since I stamp when I FEEL like stamping, it varies. Some weeks it's every day. Last week I didn't stamp at all.
Q: How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?

That also varies! But I am NOT a quick card girl. Minimum half an hour, most of the time an hour or so.
Q: What does your craft room look like?

{messy, clean, etc.} I have no craft room! I have a pantry in my dining room and I use the dining room table. So everything has to be tucked away every day. The pantry needs a MAJOR overhaul right now, but my table's always tidy!
Q: What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?

Getting out of a creative slump. I tend to look to my favourite magazines and bloggers and manufacturer's sites when I get stuck.

For {ippity} Management/Employees
·

Q: What is your title at Unity/{ippity}? I'm a Unity/Ippity Stamp Artist.
Q: How are you involved in the making of {ippity} stamps? I draw them!
Q: How long have you worked there? I've been with Unity just over a year.
Q: Are you a crafter? Do you use Unity/{ippity} stamps outside of work? YES! All the time.
Q: Can you tell us a funny story about your boss? {Sorry Angela!} I probably could if I lived in MN! No funny stories here, though. It's hard to have something funny happen to you in an email :)

And a little Just for FUN Questions

Q: If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?

My Bible, my journal/art pens and Scrabble (island animals are smart, right?)
Q: What is your favorite quote?

My life verse (at the moment)...Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet. This kind of beauty will last, and God considers it very special. (1 Peter 3:4).
Q: What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Lots of yummy foods including a jar of pickled herring (that's ALL mine).
Q: If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

I'd pick the powers of the cheerleader on Sky High who can instantly make multiples of herself. How handy would THAT be?
Q: If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

“Are You SURE You're Talking about Me?”
Q: What would your dream vacation be?

Anywhere with my family. Somewhere cool like Australia or Austria would be great.

How fun was that? Love what you shared with us here today, Tanis! Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with me. We look forward to seeing what fabulous sets/images you've created for us with the upcoming new release!!! Feb. 15th is the BIG DAY!!!

Enjoy your Saturday! Hugs, Lisa

Feel Better Soon

Happy Friday everyone! It's Maria here today and you better get used to having me here...hehe! Lisa and I are the only two members of the {ippity} design team NOT attending CHA, so we will be holding down the {ippity} fort while everyone else is gone. Lisa will be bring you the posts this weekend and I'll be back on Monday with a SPECIAL edition of the H{ippity} Hop. I asked Angela if I could do a little something extra for those of us stuck at home (and fabulous lady that she is), she agreed!!

To sign up to participate in this weeks H{ippity} Hop {CLICK HERE}

Today I get to show off one of the cards I made recently using the {ippity} sets:
Because of You
and
Just Wanted To Say

I reach for both of these sets quite a bit. I love having such a fabulous sentiment set like Just Wanted to Say and this flower from Because of You can be used in so many ways. I'm constantly inspired by all the fabulous {ippity} creations on SCS. {CLICK HERE} to go check out the gallery.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you again on Monday!!

Don't you just LOVE learning something NEW!?!? I have loved ALL the past tutorial's that the {ippity} DT have posted in the last few months!
{to check them all out click on "that's how Thursday" to the left}

So inspiring!

I also love creating projects from items you have just laying around the house...convert a regulary household item into something FAB!

Like the cracker box shown in the picture below...

converted into a cute little book!

I actually got the idea for this book on another blog that I found as I was blog surfing!!

for the FULL TUTORIAL on how to create this book!

Above are the supplies I used to create a little book...

A MUST for this project is the painters tape...super helpful.

The book I made measures 3.75 x 5 inches.

I actually created the cover before I adhered it to the cardboard box...

The paper I used is from an old journal that was pretty much falling apart...

perfect for this book!

I definitely plan on making more of these cute little books...they are

SUPER EASY & make a FUN gift!

The stamp I used is from the current {ippity} scrapbooking kit:

{by the way...I LOVE this kit, I have used it over & over & over again!!}

Hope I have INSPIRED YOU to try making one of these little books!
Remember to check out THIS BLOG for the details on HOW!

Sunday Faves

Good morning ladies, and a Happy Sunday to you. Well, now that the gallery is back, I get to pick my favorites...sorry it was delayed today, but hope you enjoy all these gorgeous creations!

So the first thing that popped at me from the gallery today is by Angie.  She made this incredible project using the Because of you set...but take a look, I am pretty sure, if you haven't seen it yet, you will be WOW-ed, too.  I love how she made a purse, which itself is stunning (I am a huge Mel FAN, too) and she made a coordinating amazing card as well.  She made this for a wedding...and I KNOW the person who is getting this will be IN LOVE.  I know, I would be!

My second pick is by Lynn and I she actually used the scrapbook kit called Life's Little Moments, but she made the most gorgeous card with it.  I love how she used the bracket and made it into a gorgeous frame and combined it with the Because of you set.  Lynn...you truly showed your creativity with this card..it's stunning!!!

My next pick is highlighting the Devotion set and this gorgeous card was made by Edna.  Take a look at this luscious card.  I really love her design, her branch and butterflies cutout, the coloring, it's such a beautiful card!

My next pick is for the set Simply Home and this card is made by Elizabeth.  I really love how she created a little scene and I am a Spellbinder lover, and she used one of my favorite shapes and I also loved her colors.  Such a beautiful card!

The next card is showcasing the Alphabetically Adorable set and this card is made by Angie again...hehehe.  I guess it really is just jumping at me and here is why.  Take a look at this SWEET card!!!!  Isn't it adorable??

The next card is made with the Straight from the Heart set and is made b Joan.  I really love the way she colored in the image...it's so pretty.

And my last Sunday Fave card is using the Just Wanted to Say set and is made by Stephanie.  Take a look at this sweet card.  I love that butterfly and her stitching is AWESOME!!!

I hope you enjoyed today's cards, I know, I did, as I searched for them.  And finally I will leave you with a beautiful quote for the day.  Hope you like it.

"If you only do what you know you can do- you never do very much."

by Tom Krause

Hope you have a FABULOUS {ippity} Day!

Hugs,

Eva

{Sorry Angela!} I would love to. One day she was going to work and she came into my shop and said sweetie I just drove the car onto the neighbors fire hydrant. and I said no you didn't. And she said yes I DID, so I went to inspect the damage, and there was not a scratch in her car and the tire was completely on the hydrant. WHO DOES THAT? Angela does. I love her.

· If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?
Angela, Nic, Luke, James, and Sawyer. I know that is more than three. Oh well

· What is your favorite quote?
And in the end its not the years in your life that count its the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln

Everything at a grocery store

Friday Fresh Idea-Scrappin' with a Card Sketch

Good morning {ippity} peeps! It's me, Lisa, and I'm here today with a Friday Fresh Idea for ya. I've been thinking all week on what I wanted to share with you today and it finally hit me as I was thinking about getting a scrapbook page done. I have to confess. I used to be almost exclusively a scrapbooker, cards were a rare thing for me. I used to be only 2 or 3 months behind on my pictures. That is until about 2 years ago and now it's a total reversal. I'm now have about 2 years of photos stacked up, I make 1 or 2 cards a day (sometimes even more) and I scrap once a week if I'm lucky. I have good intentions, but pages take me way longer to make.
I always seem to get hung up on the layout, I get overwhelmed, and so I move on to a card. Then it hit me one day-HEY I can use a card sketch on a page!!!! I do this all the time now. I know, there are many, many scrapbook blogs, site, and magazine with great layouts and even sketches for you use. BUT if you're like me, you spend waaaaay too much time on the computer looking at cards, card sketches, and card maker's blogs!!! So next time you find a great card sketch, give it a try on a scrapbook page. I think this is great for anyone who is a beginner scrapbooker, too. It helps to work on a smaller scale when getting started, especially if this is what you are comfortable with. You can add any size page (6x6, 8x8, and even 8 1/2 x11) to a full 12x12 piece of cs to fit a 12x12 album-this is what I do all the time.

Let me show you. This is one of my go-to card card sketches.
Here's how I used it on a card, using {ippity} of course! I used some fun Farm Fresh dp by Oct. Afternoon and the cow from Simply Home

and sentiment from Just a Note.

and then here it is on a 12x12 layout of my little guy catching a fish out at our lake house (the layout is straight, don't know why it's so crooked here). The main image panel, is about 8x8 adn I just mounted it on the blue 12x12-see that's where working on a smaller scale comes in. I kept the layout really simple, focusing on the photo and a title with a few little extra images. I used my favortie caption from Life's Little Moments and the fun brackets. Then I decided to use some of the letters from Alphabetically Adorable to spell out the word-ONE. I love mixing up fonts on my titles and this cute alphabet is great for that.

So I hope this was a fresh idea to at least some of you and if it helps motivate you to scrapbook then that's even better. Seriously, scrapbooking doesn't have to be over done-keep it simple, use what you have and what you already know and you can pull together a fabulous page capturing your special moments.

If you want or need any of the stamps I featured here, check out the list of {ippity} chicks in the side bar. I know any of them would love to help get these stamps in your hands!
