Flatterday Saturday with Chris Dickinson

HAPPY SATURDAY!

Hope your weekend is starting out wonderful and continues on being FABULOUS.  Today I am so happy to bring you one of our talented Stamp Designers,

CHRIS DICKINSON

So, let's get to meet Chris!!

Tell us a little about yourself.  {Family, location, background, job, kids, etc.}

Hello! I am Chris Dickinson. I live in SE Wisconsin with my husband of 16 years. I have 4 beautiful children and a variety of critters around the house . I have been home schooling my children for 13 years. My oldest child graduated 2 years ago and I am currently home schooling my younger three children. The most important thing about me is my personal relationship with Jesus. Without HIM everything I do is void and worthless.  I am in Leadership of the Card Ministry Team at our church. My hobbies include stamping, scrap booking and reading. I have been scrap booking for 12 years and stamping for 8 years.

Stamping Questions

·        How did you first get involved in stamping?
I originally started as a scrap booker and a friend introduced me to stamping. It took 2-3 years for me to become a full fledged addict!

·        What is your stamping style?
I love to try new techniques. I try to do clean and simple for classes that I teach, but I tend to lean more towards detailed cards or projects that take time and patience.

·        Tell us about your creative process
I personally love challenges. It helps me get a start on a project. Normally I choose a sketch, then a stamp set and if I have a technique in mind I will create with that.

·        What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
I have two, Season of Joy, because I designed a few of the images and Books a Flutter, because I love to read!
·        How often do you stamp?
Every day.

·        How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?
2 hours

·        What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}
My Craft Room aka "My Sanctuary" is a mess. I clean up everything once a week and try to put things away but I get interrupted a lot!

·        What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?
I have become dependent on challenges... so I would say starting out with just a stamp...

·        What is the name of your Ippity Sales Blog?
Creating With Chrissy

·        What made you decide to start selling Ippity?
I loved the images (and Unity) and wanted the flexibility of using the stamps at classes

·        Tell us about your experience selling Ippity
I have kept it very low key so far. This summer, I have been working a lot and my husband has been  traveling for work so my time has been limited. Many of the images, I show a few projects to friends and I take pre-orders so I do not have a huge inventory on hand. My plan is to eventually make up kits with projects ready to go to sell at classes.

·        What song best describes you?
I have been told Crazy, by Patsy Cline. :)

·        If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?
My Bible, an Endless pot of Coffee, and my bed.

·        What is your favorite quote?
I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.
Mother Teresa

·        What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
lettuce, diet coke and grilled chicken, left over chili for taco salad...

·        If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
to Stop time - so I can get more done or take a long nap without falling further behind.

·       If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
My Garden, weeds and all. A story about a person who is still growing, occasionally needing to be tilled, weeds pulled, yet blossoming....

·        What would your dream vacation be?
Germany, Hawaii, Australia, I would love to try a stamping/ scrapbooking cruise too!

Thank you Chris for letting us in your world a little bit and for designing the pretty stamps for us that we all love so  much!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!
